Location was nice, but a bit of a walk (10-15 minutes) to sights and shopping/restaurant area. Hotel is very close to busstop to different sights in and surrounding the city. Next to a Family mart. The hotel was well designed (modern Japanese, a lot of wood), and I liked that they offered free drinks (water, tea etc) in the lobby of the hotel. Staff was friendly In the lobby they give other travellers the opportunity to share their Kyoto travel tips on a 'recommendation wall', which is a nice detail. Room has a tiny desk - which is used for some work related meetings.

I had an exceptional stay at this hotel, exceeding the city's usual standards. The room was impressively spacious and well laid out, featuring an inside garden that added a zen touch to the ambiance. The bed was remarkably comfortable, and the little tea corner in the room provided a perfect spot to unwind. The bathroom, equipped with a magnificent bathtub, further enhanced the overall experience. In addition to the exceptional room, the hotel's location is superb, with easy access to numerous bus stops and the metro station, making it convenient to explore the city. Situated at the city center, it offers a perfect blend of luxury and accessibility.

We were at awe once we entered our room. It has the traditional feel with a modern touch. The tatami mats made us feel like we stayed at a ryokan. Very classy room for the price we paid. Although not central Kyoto, there are 2 bus stops within a minute walk and one directly outside the entrance. Makes it easy for us to travel around. Also liked that it’s only a 15 minute bus ride to Gion and Nishiki market also a 10 minute walk to the nearest subway station. Will definitely stay again the next time we visit.

The hotel has a spacious room which is quite larger compared to the usual room size in Japan. General ambiance is very nice and fitting to the city. There is a kombini just next to the hotel. Shijo and Karasuma subway stations are within the walking (~5mins) distance.

Great little place just walking distance from shijo market, the hotel is quiet and not too busy which is good. They have a small breads/waffles station for people who didn’t order breakfast which is a nice touch, as well as a welcome drink station

Beautiful hotel overall. Good size rooms for Japan. Very comfortable beds, and easy to request another pillow. Like the separate shower/toilet. Fridge was useful, and tea/coffee facilities in the room were a bonus. Hotel was kept clean throughout our stay. You can request a room clean also when you would like. Location is great, less than 10 minutes walk to the station, and 15 minutes to the main centre markets. Bus routes to the main attractions like Arashima are within 5 minutes walk. Free refreshments in the foyer were a bonus; tea and cold drinks available 24hrs a day, and bread with coffee available in the morning a nice touch.

The maple trees in the middle of our room were spectacular! The premium room was well worth paying that bit extra for as the trees made it feel like you were sleeping in a Japanese garden. Beds comfy (hard) pillows very hard however still slept fine. The deep black bath was luxurious & the amenities topped up daily, just pop the ‘clean my room’ sign on the door. Great selection of drinks for guests available for free in the foyer. Especially loved the broth! Close walking distance 10mins from main shopping district & markets. Would highly recommend 😌

We loved our suite which was quiet and comfortable. The hotel is in a great area for exploring Kyoto - walking distance to the shops, a lot of places of interest, lots of great restaurants and only a short taxi ride to the railway station.

Very effective hotel with great value for money. Rooms are small, but big comfortable bed. Everything there that you need. Staff is very friendly and helpful, Wifi works very well. Parking right opposite for 1,600 JPY overnight. Location very good with walking distance (ok, maybe 20-30 minutes) to Nikishi market and shopping district. Alternatively you can ride the bus 2-3 stations. Bus stop from Kyoto station directly in front of hotel (number 90 or 95, I forgot).

A Gem in Kyoto's Heart ♥️ A Haven of Modern Comfort and Traditional Charm Having spent six weeks traversing Japan and staying in over 20 hotels, I can confidently say Agora Kyoto Kamaruma stands out as a truly exceptional experience. Nestled in the heart of Kyoto, this fairly new four-star property seamlessly blends modern design with calming Japanese influences. 🌟 Modern Meets Tranquility The hotel's interior boasts beautiful colors and stunning Japanese rock art, creating a visually captivating yet serene ambiance. The rooms, while perfectly sized for solo travelers or couples, are a revelation. They're not just spacious; they feature the most comfortable beds I've encountered in all of Japan. 🌟 Exceptional Service Beyond Expectations What truly elevates Agora is the impeccable Kyoto service. The staff embodies the essence of Japanese hospitality, making you feel like royalty even in a four-star setting. Manager June Mantsui deserves special recognition. From the moment I arrived, his genuine warmth and attentiveness ensured a truly comfortable and unforgettable stay. It's no wonder the hotel receives such rave reviews! 🌟 Convenience at Your Doorstep Location is key, and [Hotel Name] doesn't disappoint. Situated in the heart of Kyoto, you'll find two supermarkets, three mini-marts, and bus lines all within easy reach. Whether you're exploring the city or relaxing in your haven, everything you need is at your fingertips. A 9.5 Out of 10 🌟 If you seek a hotel that excels in cleanliness, cutting-edge design, authentic Japanese elements, undeniable convenience, and unparalleled service, look no further than Agora Kyoto Karasuma It's a 9.5 out of 10 for me, and I can't recommend it highly enough.
